Let your career take off as a Flight Instructor

Year after year many college aviation students graduate and start the process of looking for that elusive first job as a pilot. Flight instructing is one of the primary sources of entry-level employment in the Canadian aviation industry. Discovery Aviation Academy has established itself as the go-to school in Ontario to obtain a Flight Instructor Rating. Our focus is on providing quick, straight-forward, and high quality training to allow graduates to easily transition to employment as a Flight Instructor. The next intake for the Flight Instructor Rating program will be in September 2016. Visit www.flydaa.ca/instructor for more information on how you can get started.

Career Pilot Program - Paid Co-Op Opportunities

Our Career Pilot Program students earn valuable Northern experience in real-world aviation during the summer and winter conducting Aerial Angler Counts. This is just one of the many ways our CPP students gain industry exposure outside of the flight school environment. For more information about the program, visit www.flydaa.ca/careerpilotprogram

We don't just try to get you ready for the industry, we ARE the industry!

    Training in Sudbury

Greater Sudbury is a city of just over 157,000 and serves as the regional capital of Northeastern Ontario. It is located 390 kilometres north of Toronto. Sudbury is one of the largest municipalities, by area, in Canada with plenty of open space, freshwater lakes, pristine forests and woodlands, parks, recreational facilities and real estate opportunities. And with a low population density (only 46.8 people per square kilometer!), the city can offer you a unique Northern lifestyle and superb quality of life like no other. The community is inclusive, dynamic and driven by its greatest asset - the people!

Discovery Aviation Academy 2nd Annual K4K Fun Fly Day

On August 17, 2014 Discovery Aviation Academy hosted its second annual K4K Fun Fly Day. The fun-packed event included a BBQ, static displays, kid’s activities as well as sight-seeing flights over the city of Sudbury in support of the Kicx for Kids Charity. This year, we were able to get over 110 people up in the air and donate $2,500 despite cool weather. Donations will be put toward Phase 2 of the Kicx for Kids project which aims for a complete renovation and transformation of the existing Treatment Room in the Pediatric Unit at Health Sciences North in Sudbury.
